Sculpture in the City is an annual sculpture park that uses the urban realm as a rotating gallery space.
The 12th Edition of Sculpture in the City is on display now, and includes an artwork by artist Arturo Herrera on the side of the Specialty MGA building at 33 Creechurch Lane.
‘Untitled’ by Arturo Herrera is based on a collage which is made to contrast with the severity of the granite surroundings of Creechurch Lane.
“Activating the façade with fragmented shapes and colour fields, including a Cezanne reference and dripping paint, create a complex stage curtain on the flat surface of the building. This juxtaposition encourages a dialogue between architecture and the visual image that is open to a variety of readings”.
Be sure to explore it further next time you visit our office.
